My name is
Cali Leeds and I am in my junior year of high school. Although I am sad that
the summer is over I am really excited to start the new school year. Over the
summer I volunteered at the zoo. I worked in the education department to teach
kids at the summer camp about animals and their habitats. It was so much fun to
be able to educate younger children on a topic that I am passionate about and
extremely interested in. It was a great experience. Although it was very tiring
to work with the kids, I feel like it was worthwhile and was very rewarding. I
like to spend time reading literature on animals and watching documentaries on
them too. (Maybe we will get to read some this year!)
Even though
I wish that summer was longer, I am happy that the year is starting. Despite
the fact that there is a lot of pressure on junior year I think that it will be
a lot of fun and that I will learn so much. While being a freshman and a
sophomore was great I think that it will only get better. (And then college! I
can’t wait!) Go Dolphins!
